The poet persona made use of a first person plural narrative technique, to converse with his fellow citizens to have a childlike protest an ongoing protest. He implores the citizen clamouring as one voice, to be tuned (a fearsome crescendo) to the extent that even the voiceless (citizens with no power{dumbs}, or with little power{twisted tongues, stammerers}) should be given voices (to contribute) to speak to the government (the dead deaf) who might know not what the majority are going through. A poem that is rich in imagery and the use of extended metaphors, aimed at the lover of the poet persona. The poet persona expresses himself in the first line of the first stanza in an imaginary place very far away from his lover ( a moon with an edge does not exist), seeing through his open concentrated mind, his lover in her room embracing their good memories. He expresses his words with live images such as a feather and a dove in the second stanza.
