Trotter & Sluggish

Trotter & Sluggish

"Trotter & Sluggish" by Thomas Rodre

Trotter and Sluggish are quite a pair

Who would think they would venture to dare

Become best friends when they differ so greatly

A pony and a snail? Heavens to Betsy!

Trotter the pony is as fast as a train

Sluggish the snail moves his best, but sadly in vain

For it takes Sluggish all day to catch up to the steed

At about 3 inches per hour, his "fastest" speed.

But when they are together they have the bestest of time

Trotter whinnies loudly and sluggish trails slime

Sometimes the snail will hitch a ride

On Trotter's hoof, who then gallops n stride

One day Sluggish was nowhere to be seen

Until Trotter found him in a nearby stream

"I'm just relaxing and chillin' said the snail from his shell

"Why then I'll join you" said the horse with a yell

But alas the snail could not hear, yet could see plain as day

ThatTrotter was having such fun splashing the water today

So together they spent the better part of the day

Enjoying each other...so then who's to say?

That a pony and a snail should not mingle to play?

So what may be learned from this story above?

Its that when you and others share things in common

Your sizes, shapes or color don't matter...when there is love.

The End
