“I didn't notice it before.”
“Before what?”
He didn't answer directly.
“It was full of stars.”
Greg waited for him to say everything he wanted to say.
“When she engulfed me in her magical light in order to see what I asked her to see, something changed.”
“What?”
She flashed an incomprehensible smile.
“She didn't steal her reputation. Even if she's not capable of everything, she's capable of enough to repair...”
He stopped there. Greg was lost, but it didn't take him long to understand what enough was.

In a magical version of New York City, Conor, a young magician unable to access his powers, is banished from his school and must resign himself to joining a normal one. There, he befriends Chris, a classmate fascinated by magic. When the young wizard's mother is mortally wounded by a black mage, they together embark on a dangerous quest through a cursed district to find a remedy that will save her from this doomed wound. Their adventure turns out to be even more incredible than they expected, and leads to the discovery of more than just the cure.
