ARTU is a very smart and intelligent rat living in 8th. Street subway station, New York.

In the second book in the series, ARTU is concerned about a homeless guy sleeping rough at the station and teams up again with 8-year-old CJ to try and help.  Turns out the guy is a homeless VET with PTSD and ARTU and CJ develop a plan to help, having no idea where it would all lead to.
